Young-Rok Kim received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 2003 (under the supervision of Professor Carl A. Batt). Upon completion of his doctoral studies, he joined the Branton Lab at Harvard University as a postdoctoral fellow.

 

In 2005, he returned to Korea and worked for Samsung Advanced institute of Technology (SAIT) as a senior scientist. In March of 2007, he joined the faculty at Kyung Hee University, where he has been ever since.

His professional interests are Food Materials and Nanobiotechnology. His current research focuses on the development of (1) functional nanomaterials for the advancement of food system and human health, and (2) nano-scale devices for the precise measurement of single biomolecule.
